Sugar Beet Mural
My sister and I were awarded the Colorado Creative Corps ARP (American Rescue Plan) Grant to bring a 2,000 square foot public mural to life in a rural community along the Pawnee Pioneer Trails Scenic & Historic Byway.
This grant-funded project partnered with Downtown Colorado Inc. and other nonprofits to bring awareness and access to arts and culture, while creating a sense of identity and pride for communities living along the Byway. The mural represents scenic motifs that convey a sense of belonging by showcasing regional agriculture, wildlife, and the South Platte River. The location happened to be at a sugar beet factory right at the entrance to Fort Morgan.
This is part of multi-year project to integrate art into rural landscapes and communities along the Byway and beyond.
